VISION

To serve as a catalyst for the growth of the SME sector Generate employment for the teeming graduates of tertiary institutions in Nigeria. RBI understands that North Central Nigeria lags behind other regions in the growth of this sector as the pervasive culture of the people is to join the civil service. We seek to challenge this mindset Our plan involves the training of university and polytechnic students and graduates through workshops and seminars on entrepreneurship. This would ensure that target individuals are equipped with the requisite knowledge and skills to create and manage enterprises. Our workshops will also aim at enlightening our participants of current government policies on the SME sector as well as linking entrepreneurs with potential investors, banks, financiers, NGO’s and government agencies committed to development of the SME sector. We also hope to partner with universities towards identifying commercially viable research and converting into commercial products or services.

How we got started

RBI was founded and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as an NGO in 2010; RBI promotes entrepreneurship among young people in Nigeria. We provide access to training, business mentoring, and financing for startups.

We are particularly focused on agro-allied and Technology based startups and aim to develop integrated systems that support the poorest people to acquire skills, jobs, and incomes. We have worked with the University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue State University Makurdi, National Youth Service Corps, and religious organizations to facilitate entrepreneurship training for more than 2,200 youths in Benue State. RBI’s founders are university lecturers, bankers, and businessmen; they are unpaid, which keeps costs low so that all funding (less administrative costs) goes directly to programming.
